Dulse & Rugosa’s shampoo bars are the perfect way to clean and condition your hair at the same time. A powerful blend of botanically infused oils condition your hair without leaving it greasy. Powdered kelp stimulates your scalp and helps relieve itch while leaving your hair shiny and smooth.

LOVELY RITA (SUPER CONDITIONING): Some hair needs more moisture.Coconut and castor oil create a superior thick lather but also condition those pesky locks. Olive oil and rose hip oil leave your hair shiny and soft.

HOW TO USE

1. Get your hair wet.

2. Lather your shampoo bar. You can create all the lather you need in your hands or you can run your bar three or four times over the length of your hair.

3. Distribute the suds. Rub the lather all through your hair and make sure to massage it into your scalp. Seaweed is really great your dry flaky skin and keeping your scalp happy.

4. Rinse

WHAT TO EXPECT

The first time you use a shampoo bar you hair will feel different. Cleaner and lighter. Some people say it feels strawlike. This goes away in about a week, but could take up to 2 weeks. Your hair might get oily fast. This is because your scalp is used to over producing oil. With conventional shampoo you are stripping all the oil from your hair, then replacing it with petrochemicals. Your scalp doesn’t know that you have conditioned so it over produces oil to replace what it thinks you have lost. This means that you're actually shampooing your hair way more often then you need to. This is great for shampoo manufactures but bad for your hair, your wallet and the planet. It takes a bit for your scalp to figure out the right amount of oil to produce for your particular hair. But once this happens it means you can go longer between washing your hair.

About The Maker

Dulse & Rugosa is the mother-daughter team of Claire and Carly Weinberg. They founded their company in 2012 as a way to spread the wonder of Maine's oceans, and especially seaweed, with everyone.

Their products start on Gotts Island, a tiny speck off the coast of Acadia National Park in Maine. There, on their small farm or along the rocky shores, Claire and Carly hand pick each flower, leaf and piece of seaweed. After solar drying, these ingredients then become handcrafted soaps, lotions, scrubs and oils.

We do our best to get orders to you as quickly as possible! While, Heritage Seaweed can't guarantee actual delivery time, here's what to expect with a typical order's journey:
